Description:

In this position you will have end-to-end responsibility over the company’s production environment and application, running in the cloud. You’ll be required to think of ways and create tools to monitor the system and its various components, and alert on things that go wrong. You’ll need to take an active part in the architecture, design, and code of the backend. You’ll need to handle production issues.

Support and maintain mission critical, front-end and back-end production environments and applications
Improving performance, monitoring, and overall stability of our application
Interacting with the Engineering to create the architecture and design of the backend infrastructure
Create automated tools for deployment, customization, upgrades and monitoring
Cloud services administration (ElasticSearch, AWS - including EC2, S3, ElastiCache, EMR)
Webserver administration (Apache, Django)
Systems administration (Ubuntu)

2+ years experience in Python and linux shell scripts
Experience scaling web applications
Experience with cloud services (Amazon Web Services preferred)
Experience with NoSQL DB (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Redis)
Experience with relational DB (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS-SQL)
Experience in a 24/7 production environment
Experience with Nagios, New Relic - advantage
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
