Shape the way millions of consumers experience video on desktops, mobile devices, and set-top boxes, delivered by Disney, Warner Bros, HBO and other media companies that use Kaltura’s technology.

In this role you will:
Participate in the prototyping, analysis, design, development and delivery of applications and solutions that delight our customers
Collaborate with other teams, including architects, Product Managers, QA, Professional Services, and the CTO, to solve critical business & technical problems
Ensure a quality solution through the use of industry standard technical excellence practices – including design reviews, performance modeling, and code inspections

Kaltura’s Team leads, designs, and develops elegant next-gen solutions for consumption of video by millions of students, employees and consumers, across multi screens, browsers, and devices. We also utilize APIs and Kaltura’s core platform to seamlessly integrate video into market leading applications and systems. 5+ years of demonstrated software development experience in a fast-paced environment, working through all phases of the software development life cycle
Excellent programming abilities in C# on Microsoft.NET platform or C++ using Visual Studio.NET
Proven experience using DirectShow/Direct X, Windows Media Technologies/WMF/H.264/AAC encoding SDK’s, FFMPEG, developing non-linear video editors
Proven experience using Audio/ video integration with different peripherals, capture devices, webcams, camcorders, document cameras, interactive whiteboards screen recording technologies
Ability to work in a results-driven, high pressure environment
B.sc degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent
Programming abilities in MacOS and IOS (Plus)
Experience in using QT/ QTKit/ AVFoundation (plus)
proficiency with Objective C (plus)
Experience with HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JavaScript and jQuery (plus)
Solid knowledge of web standards, cross-browser, cross-platform and cross device compatibility (plus)
Excellent knowledge and understanding of design patterns (plus)

In-depth understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles – required
Experience with programing platforms (Spring, Hibernate, Zend, Simfony)
Experience working with databases – required
Linux and Apache experience – required
Experience with large systems that support a large number of transactions (millions per day) – advantage
Knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, XML, XSL – advantage

The Backend (Core) team leads, designs and develops Kaltura’s server platform and provides a comprehensive set of application programming interfaces (REST APIs) for all types of integration. The team also builds Kaltura's foundation layer that includes operational MySQL databases. The technology that the team uses includes LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) and Sphinx.
The Backend team's main goal is to build a cutting-edge application that emphasizes performance, seamlessly supporting millions of transactions per day, based on high quality code that serves the entire Kaltura community.
