Outbrain, the Web's leading content discovery platform, is seeking an outstanding Big-Data developer to join its recommendation group, the algorithmic core of a global service that reaches hundreds of millions of unique users every month, serving them tens of billions of content recommendations.

Development in the Recommendation Group makes use of today’s leading Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Cassandra, Storm, etc.) meshed into a service-oriented architecture to power machine-learning algorithms aiming to recommend the best content for each user at the right time. At our scale, all serving code must be designed upfront with ultra high serving throughput in mind.

-          Push machine-learning researches and data-driven insights into production – starting from automatic ETL processes, through A/B testing and production-grade code.

-          Build dashboards and data-driven decision-support applications. Work with various teams in the company on the development and delivery of these solutions.

B.Sc. in Computer Science or closely related fields.
Proven industrial experience in Java software development – a must.
Experience developing reporting tools and decision-support applications.
Experience with ETL development at large scales.
Coding experience with Python, Scala, Spark, Pig – an advantage.
Experience in machine learning / data analysis – an advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Office location: Netanya, Israel.
