Outbrain is a fast-growing content discovery platform that reaches 80% of the US online population and is active all around the globe. The global Operations team is currently managing several data centers, serving billions of requests each month.

To meet the increasing challenges of this expanding business, the Platform group is continuously growing Outbrain’s infrastructure. We work in a challenging environment, leveraging various open-source tools and developing some on our own. We are big believers in automation and try to monitor everything, using a blend of internal tools and external services.

B.S. or M.S. in software engineering, computer science, or related field
Experience with databases, preferably MySQL
Passion for code quality and improvement of the maintainability of the code base
Excellent knowledge of Java and scripting languages (python, ruby, bash)
Good knowledge of development and quality tools (ReviewBoard, IntelliJ, Sonar)
Good knowledge of Version Control Systems (Subversion, Git)
Good knowledge of build, test and deployment tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, Maven, Selenium, JUnit, Grunt, Gradle)
Good knowledge of package management tools (Artifactory/Nexus, RPM, DEB, NPM)
Experience with chef, or a similar configuration management tool
Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating system
Understanding of networking and Service Oriented Architecture
Intelligent and self-motivated
Strong problem-solving ability
