Description:

The QA Performance team is looking for a talented Performance engineer to be responsible for performance testing for Akamai next generation proxy. Akamai servers are used to optimized performance and ensure security on hundreds of the top consumers and business web sites. The performance engineer will define and drive projects to measure performance of Akamai system over time. This will involve developing tests, creating new environments, collecting and analyzing performance-related data. As a member of the core testing team, the QA performance engineer will be responsible for testing Akamai site acceleration core proxy software before it is widely installed in production.

Responsibilities:

- Define and develop new performance tests to extend the testing coverage of Akamai servers.
- Working with Load generating tools
- Exploring and building new environments for performance testing.
- Analyzing and monitoring the performance results to find actual issues prior versions releases.
- Develop troubleshooting skills to know where to find the reasons for performance issues.
- Interfaces with R&D, other QA teams and project managers to improve the existing test scenarios.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field, or an equivalent experience.
- Experience in Unix/Linux.
- 2+ years of experience in developing, running and analyzing Load / Performance tests in Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with networking protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL), statistics and scripting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
- Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-motivated, creative, confident and a quick learner.

Desired Qualifications

- Experience with performance testing tool (Spirent, Ixia, Load Runner, etc.)
- Good knowledge of networking.
- Experience with web scripting languages, Linux scripting & Perl.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
