This positions REQUIRES business development experience in the Clinical Research industry, applicants without this experience will not be considered. This position can be home based in the UK,Germany, or Israel.
The Executive Director, Business Development understands that being a leader is more than a boss or a manager. Sales leadership at Clinipace involves rolling up your sleeves and doing whatever it takes to help your team advance a sale or close a deal. Regional Sales Strategist – Develops with his/her team a strategic plan and projects annual sales forecasts for each assigned account within the EU region. Manages their team against goal attainment and overall activity. Achieves sales forecasts by generating new business from existing as well as new biotech accounts across Europe. Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with clients.
Sales Leadership – Supports his/her team in the development of powerful capabilities and proposal defense presentations; creates business opportunities through industry relationships and networks; proactively resolves sponsor issues by creating specific action plans that support both Clinipace and sponsor objectives; establishes project review meetings on ongoing projects. Represents and advocates Business Development at various company meetings.
Proposal Negotiator – Collaborates and coordinates with Client Relations, Clinical Services, and other functional areas in the analysis and development of Clinipace’s proposal process. Together with BD Director, designs and identifies most effective presentation team, and supports Clinipace proposal defenses with clients. Negotiates LOIs, Master Agreements and Milestone Payments with customer.
Marketing Representative – Assists in the development of marketing materials, promotional materials, and industry meeting strategy. Obtains competitive information such as strengths/ weaknesses of competitive CROs and competitive pricing. Represents Clinipace at industry conferences and therapeutic meetings.
Communicates industry events and trends to management.
Team Management – Mentor, lead and strategize with your team on a daily basis. Proving key insight into buying concepts for each opportunity and identifying next steps to be taken to close the deal. Cross collaboration with colleagues in Asia, Latin America and the US will be paramount to ensure global touch points and global expertise is leveraged across all account interactions.
Travel throughout Europe
Education
Bachelors’ Degree required, MBA preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years’ industry-related work experience; minimum 3 years’ CRO (Contract Research Organization) sales experience
Minimum 3 years Sales Management
Must be able to demonstrate successful experience in a quota-driven sales environment
Proven success managing pharma and biotech related clients and implementing new programs to expand existing business
Knowledge of clinical study guidelines (FDA and GCP)Expertise in online project management tools (SalesForce)

Computer Literate: Familiar with SalesForce, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Email capable and Internet familiar.
Sales Experience: Has prior sales history as evidenced on resume (full-service clinical sales experience required), has presented both informally and formally to potential clients.
Change agent: Individual that identifies a need and executes to make it happen
